Why Porinju Than Mariam or Jose?

Kattalan Porinju is a character in the movie Porinju Mariam Jose, as the movie says he is wild. Let's take a look at Porinju.

Complete plot:

Set in the 80's Porinju, a village thug and an unsung hero among the common man. Porinju is a tenth standard dropout, he was an intelligent student but due to a fight, he was dismissed from the school. 

Jose, best friend of porinju joined him and left his study as well. Mariyam their classmate is from a reputed family and she is in love with Porinju. Porinju later becomes, the village butcher and hero to the entire village, has an unfulfilled love story with Mariyam, the village money-lender. Jose and Porinju are friends thick as thieves.
An altercation during a church procession leads to quite an ego tussle and makes way to violence and tensions. Porinju has a strong relationship with Iype Muthalali but his sons don't like the relationship. On night church festival procession going on, Jose the closest friend of Porinju dance along with Mariya. Meanwhile, prince the youngest son of Iype from Dubai catches the back bump of Mariya. Mariya scolds and quarrels with Prince and drives him away.
Now the procession advance and in front of Iype house the procession stops and music band keeps a song for which porinju and iype dance together, later the music changes and now it's Jose's favorite music which makes Jose dance. But Prince seeing Jose gathers his two elder brothers and beat Jose which makes porinju angry. Porinju beats all the people in spite of being Iypes sons. Iype though see his sons get beat, support porinju as porinju never fights unnecessarily. Porinju has a strong love for mariyaa who is now living alone after showing the flashback.
A flashback shows porinju with Jose comes to mariyaa house to get married but mariyaa father threatens to commit suicide by rolling rope around the neck and standing over a treetop but full of ants over treetop, the Father of mariyaa loses grip and falls with the rope strangulating and dies. For this mariyaa lives alone without leaving the house and marrying porinju. Now Prince is full of anger arranges criminals to kill porinju and Jose.
Jose gets killed while in a film theatre. For this porinju takes revenge and kills Prince. Though Prince's elder brothers come with thugs to kill porinju, porinju beats all and drives away the elder brothers without killing them. Meanwhile, mariyaa offers good money to advocate to get advanced bail for porinju. Now climax scene iype sad at Prince death with his house full mourning. Church festival procession is coming and stops in front of iypes house.
Iype comes out and porinju appears where their favorite song is played by a music band. Now iype and porinju dance and hugs at the end. Iype cries and told porinju you killed prince, for which porinju says because he killed Jose. Now iype takes out hidden knife tells so he is killing porinju now and then stabs many times porinju with the hidden knife. Porinju stands still with grief. The procession people rounds around iype who shows knife but porinju takes the knife from iypes hand and tells iype to go inside and prevent the people from entering iype house.
Mariyaa comes now but porinju walks and falls dead over Mariya's shoulder. Mariyaa is seen at the end in front of Porinjus death stone with her name and date not written, shown to lay her after her death in the future.

Reasons Why I Prefer Porinju:
1. Friends come first:
There are various situations in which he proved the same. Friendship is the base for this whole movie, He tried to be calm in the whole first half of the movie. Even when the pressure was up to the rise. Most of the fights were avoidable, but both the party has their flows.
2. Respected character:
The whole image of the porinju is shown through fear in the faces of the villagers. Even flashbacks bring goosebumps to everyone. Even thugs fear him. But the fear also results in love. Every villager has a love for Porinju.
3. Failed but a beautiful love story:
Even though the life of porinju was wild Maryam's love was not destroyed, maybe the fact that he ended up being a thug because of here made her feel so. But things took a change when Mariyam's father attempted suicide. This didn't have much of an impact on Porinju's love, but Mariyam's love life was seriously affected.
4. Respect for Iype:
Even though Iype is his boss, Porinju loves him like a father. Even though Iype kills him he forgives him.
5. Future or Love:
He was one of the brightest students, but he chooses to lose his future over a simple fight in his class. If he choose not to do so he could have been a better person than a thug.
