If I could give one line for this complete movie it would be A DETOUR INTO THE LIFE OF A COP. Nivin Pauly as Biju Paulose is a college professor turned police inspector. The film rotates between 2 main genres Humor and Action.
If you are looking for a cop movie where the cop has superman like the power you won't find it here in this movie. But if you want to know what really happens in a cops life you should certainly watch this.

3. Varathan:
Amal Neerad is one among the marvels of Malayalam industry let me get this straight, you will find more of his movies in this list for sure. He has a different tone and signature which he follows in his every movie. This movie is slow but if you wait till the end I promise this will make you grasp your chair especially in the last 20 minutes.
If you observe closly every minute scenes have something big that delivers to the end. Characters are placed in such a way that every time you watch it tells you another story.
4. Parava
What happens if you don't have a lead character, you will end up with a Gem like Parava. A touch of innocence and a back story worth dying for Parava has all that a movie lover prefers. This movie takes you through the narrow bylane of Mattancherry along with few teenagers and their dream.
You could feel the balance of flavor and beauty of innocence along the way. Marvelous Cinema and I guarantee you will enjoy every moment of this.

5. Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi
This is the movie that started Malayali's love for travel and exploration. I wouldn't hesitate to watch this movie all over again. This movie questions society and the current status of its beings. I wouldn't spoil it for you, watch it and feel the journey.
6. 7th Day
The twisted plot, mystery, hidden characters, fear, love, action, dialogues worth dying for what doesn't this movie has is a question you should ask. Prithviraj's movie always has been revolving around twist but this movie is a classic one.
If you are into mystery and crime you should watch this one. Beautifully crafted and a patient mind could always love this.
A movie in which every part including acting, direction, cinematography, music, dialogues and pretty much everything reaches the paramount of perfection. An ordinary story that's made into an extraordinary movie with its high-class direction. The cinematography is so good that almost all the shots of the movie can be made into your desktop wallpaper. Worth watching. Surely one of the most brilliantly crafted works in India.
8. Captain
Prajesh Sen's directorial debut is NOT a catastrophe or a failure. But it cannot be considered a superb movie. It has its good moments and not so well moments. It's slow at certain places but has some very good scenes too. Splendid performance by Anu Sithara - that's the highlight of the movie. Siddique and Saiju Kurup did their part very well. Jayasurya's acting, as usual, is a letdown. His facial expression gives a feeling that he has had constipation for several days and is now sitting on the toilet to give a try. From the very first scene where he is about to take a penalty kick to the last scene at the railway station - its this bland face that he displays always. Many misunderstand this for good acting!! Background score and songs are good.
9. Traffic
A movie that makes one think! Excellent script, Brilliantly captures, no drag and the cast has done a great job !!
